Just buy generics whenever possible, lots of time they’re just as good as the big brands anyway.
Oftentimes generics ARE big brands, privately labelled. Yrs ago my dad had a chemical company making synthetic soap based machining fluids. He'd send me to one of his suppliers to pick up the raw materials, an old chemical plant literally under the Pulaski Skyway in NJ. They also manufactured laundry detergents under contract with the name brands. Oftentimes they'd relabel the products with generic names to be distributed to specific stores. The name brands still make $$$ but not as much so such boycotts can still send a message

Unfortunately that’s not always true. As in paper towels and toilet paper. And cola. Etc. some things like butter, etc, just as well.

Is there a race to the bottom to see who can do the most irreparable damage to their brands in the least amount of time? That Titan submersible raced to the bottom without the aid of any “experienced men.” Now look. Irreparable damage to five human beings, never mind the brand.
