Whatever this drama was with Wagner the end result is Wagner is out of the war. That means 1/3 of Russias military power just left the field.

“…that said, Wagner’s recruitment figures continue to increase.“

That’s amazing if true.

Rita was astute in looking at the Big Picture while fitting in the small stuff.

We know that Putin understands that he is fighting a US/Western Europe/NATO Proxy.

We know that Belarus/Lukashenko are seriously loyal to Russian values, and is seriously pissed at the West, and regularly detains Western agents. Also Belarus regularly uses force on Polish Border "Guards" that try to illegally prevent Migrants from crossing the border into Poland.

We know that Putin is very popular in Russia.

We know that Belarus will soon have physical access to Russian Tactical Nukes, if not already.

So it seems unusual that any Wagnerites in "disfavor" would be parked in Belarus.

Pretty sure we'll see what's up in the next couple of months.

My assessment was hope, and mostly betting on Putin’s instincts and brain.

He evidently loves Russian history and his wielding of it came from natural interest, or else his career development and curriculum peaked it, because he always references great battles and talks of historic figures and Outcomes.

Do you suppose he could actually trim 6 BILLION off Victoria Nuland’s beard?

Well, Putin certainly scuttled Yeltsin's plan to let GloboNazis, and Western Oligarchs secure most all Russian resources for minuscule bribes to Yeltsin.

Then he repeated the performance with Russian Oligarchs trying the same ploy of looting for the West.

Then he tried to get a fair deal for the Serbs but NATO Gave 'em Ethnic Cleansing and Cluster bombs for the kids.

By the time Georgia got to feeling their oats bought from Western Connections, Putin reaffirmed his long standing policy of siding with Russians and Ethnic Russians against thieves.

So Putin is just a Russian that sides with Russians and is fairly well versed in Russian history and culture. You might say that's his job, so why does the West think he shouldn't do it?

Keep in mind that Putin works well inside the Russian Federation Bureaucracy, which is formidable, and it tends to spread power rather than concentrate it. This indicates many other Russians also think that Putin is doing his job.

You’re a writer! And though msm is in a fever to represent Putin as a bumbling half-wit looking for a first clue, I think you captured the grasp and scope of his strategic prowess very well. I listened to his speech prior to launch and was deeply impressed, but had not inspected the highlight events you named in anywhere near the interesting detail of your assessment. Good writing!

I barely remembered Peter the Great and Catherine. Putin remembers, in chapter and verse!

Which is pretty normal for a Russian who likes his tribe and culture, and consistently supports the whole of it.

Many other peoples have similar individuals in their cultures.

The problem the West has with Putin is he regularly scuttles their plans to steal Russian Natural Resources and Russian Assets from Russia.

There is evidence in Putin's policy and recent Russian Federation Law, that Putin intends to return Russian Natural Resources and Land to the Russian People in general, however, if that is his true intent, we will only know when it is finally accomplished.
