Ukraine is a desert?
Putin’s swagger is gone. He know he’s losing.
Yesterday’s video:

A field of mines between lines of defense is not uncommon. Of course the personal on those lines need to know how to navigate.
Also it was reported in “reporting from ukraine” that ukraine has aerial mine sowing weaponary and it was utilized. They shot the mines between the two lines preventing the reserves on the second line from moving forward to assist the first line.
To prevent retreat.
“Nothing short of unconditional surrender will placate Russia”
If that’s what it takes to defeat Russia then so be it.
Everything you say is true about Putin is really true of Biden and Zelensky.
Hang on to your fantasies, though.
Thanks.
What the end of this will be -- without a doubt -- will be what will be.
Because I know both Zelensky and Putin personally < sarc >, I asked if they heard of any of those commenting on these threads. They laughed for a short while and then went back to firing real salvos, munition-laden and requiring field hospitals and all. Awful stuff, and it is very likely that the pros and cons posted as to the daily details are wonderful catharsis for all of us -- yes, I include myself -- as we watch from afar, essentially impotent to affect the war.
As the line from Shakespeare says while speaking from Macbeth to us as words are hurled, these are "full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing."
Ukraine is completely devoid of sand. Not enough to fill a sand box, ...or bag. This photo has to be faked.
Well that’s possible, but the article stated the Russians were running over their own mines.
Oleshky Sands - Ukraine.
Possible, however the Ukrainians are on the counter attack and are looking to push Russians back from their positions. The Russians have had quite a bit of time to set up defensive positions and artillery. They also have air support which the Ukrainians lack.
One of the areas that the Ukrainians have been focused on is in a wedge location of the line where the Russians have less of a defensive ring.
That part makes sense.
What doesn't make sense if that they are sending in much smaller forces than what is available.
While the Russians could be presenting false information, it's hard to ignore the identifiable armor is being destroyed especially when those areas can be geo-located.
The Ukes are screwed unless they throw massive forces into some strategic gap and can hold it.
Understood.
I’m just very skeptical as to the accuracy of anything coming out of there. Just about everything says either Russia or Ukraine is on the cusp of complete victory and that has been the case for the last 15 months.
I believe that is the plan, right now this is still probing and if there is a weakness they exploit. If not they hold
Though what all is going on I am sure we don’t know and any breakthrough Russia won’t announce
Loses will happen, to the extent of the Russians we will see
Obviously, we need to question everything however we can certainly make some assumptions.
1.) Russia was successful in gaining ground
2.) Ukraine is now on the counter attack.
3.) Western media has not promoted any type of success yet in fact a German newspaper (Bild) reported:
Those who expected that Kyiv would quickly win as soon as Western tanks and armored personnel carriers appeared in service were mistaken, writes a leading German newspaper. Everything looks like that Ukraine will not conduct a massive offensive with all the new weapons, but will use it purposefully in different places. It becomes obvious that there will be no victory until the end of the year. Ukraine's efforts to liberate the territory could drag on for years , as Russia has built a very strong line of defense over the past 15 months.
If the Russians are done taking territory and they are only focused on holding what they have, Ukraine will have a serious problem rooting them out. It will take a massive effort in men & machines to make this happen.
The front line is ridiculously long and the Ukrainians have only been successful so far in claiming a hill or settlement here or there (and are often pushed right back within 24-48 hours).
The land to the South of Kherson and to the Southeast is huge sand dunes area, as reflected in Oleshky Sands National Park:
Another Ukraine Propaganda Minister.
I hope the Ukrainians drive the Russians out. There’s no law that says Ukrainians should be Russian pawns.
