This has been going on a long time, MTG.
One simple reason: McCarthy. He doesn’t want to, period. Why? Who knows.
But for all the squishy naysayers on this thread, there is one extremely good reason to open an Impeachment Inquiry:
It enables the R’s to subpoena all documents and interrogate anyone they want, under oath. Remember how far they went 3 years ago during the Trump inquiries? They went after everyone in Trump’s orbit, including his family! How sweet would it be to do the same to Biden?
The DOJ is NOT investigating Biden, and Wray is resisting everything. People say Comer just won the document battle, but he didn’t. McCarthy pulled the rug out from under Comer the day before the contempt vote.
Comer’s subpoena (now hard to find on the web, btw) demanded the FBI, Wray in particular, HAND OVER THE 1023 FILE, or he would be held in contempt. Wray DID NOT hand over the file. He just let them read it in a SCIF. No pictures, no notes to take out with them. It was a loss.
Why? Because the media still has their excuse not to cover it. “Where’s the evidence?” they say. And nobody can hand them a copy. As of now, it’s a “He-said, She said,” as far as the media is concerned. And the dems lie through their teeth about it. Just like Schiff did for years. Same friken thing!
Why? McCarthy made a deal with Wray, and told Comer to not hold the contempt vote.
Why? Because McCarthy is a snake. And he wants Biden to stay there.
Compromised? Likely.
But an Impeachment Inquiry allows the R’s to subpoena all documents, and interrogate witnesses under oath.
Becase nobody else will.
So yeah, I back MTG (and Gaetz, etc.) 100%. Gave to both last time, will do so again. She’s one of about 10 in Congress with balls big enough.
I suggest keyboard warriors here stop typing and start calling their reps. Like I do, twice a week. “Impeach Biden! Impeach Wray, Mayorkis, and the rest of them!!!” is what I start with.
