Davidov makes my point - this badly impedes a Ukrainian river crossing.
Even after the water recedes, the damage to wharves and roads will make ferry operations very difficult. There will be kilometers of mud between the landing points and viable roads. The Dneiper channels among the islands will be totally different, and full of debris.

You are exactly correct. Training protocol sometimes of 3 days, maybe working gun + some ammo, always dumped to hike to front lines, prison or shot execution style if you don’t.

I can’t understand why there is a single bridge, transmission line, pipeline, or dam across the Dnieper south of Kyiv.
If this were a serious war, they would all be gone by now.
Artillery would be insufficient. We are talking 20kg of HE per shell at most. And it would be very inefficient to use heavy missiles or bombs, though I suppose if enough were used it may work.
But given that the entire powerplant section and its river channel was also demolished (visible on all the videos), this looks like a comprehensive demolition of the entire facility. There would be no need to do that just to make the primary section of the dam fail. Nor could that be an accident caused by high water.

Sure whatever.
From what it looks like Russia has taken the ground they want. This allows them to set up defensive positions making Ukraine have to be the aggressor (counter attack). Doing this against a nation that has air superiority will be a slaughterhouse for the Ukrainians.
It was imtertesting to note that some of these 'counter attacks' consisted of troops sizes down to a couple of regiments (200 or so). Not exactly an impressive show of force when facing withering artillery.
Not sure how Ukraine wins that battle.
Play pretend... find a hero for yourself.
