A rim and tire costs $30 at a salvage yards. 4 cuts of plywood and some matching garpet glued, is your personal safety responsibility. Presto!
no matter
the real goal is to get everyone
on the bus
own nothing and be happy
bugs are yummy
get on the bus
This is a big concern for me with my 2022 Toyota hybrid. No spare tire. I could just imagine the challenge if I’m halfway between somewhere and in the middle of nowhere and have a flat tire.
If you jack an EV at the wrong spot you ruin the battery and possible deliver 20,000 Megawatts thru your butt.
"Tyre"? Don't those Aussies know how to spell?
It doesn't take strength, it takes leverage.
Was the tow truck electric?

BS!
If you jack an EV at the wrong spot....
+++++++++++++
Do Teslas come with jacks? Almost seems like no reason for it.
Most new cars have no spare, been that way for years.
Blame the stupid CAFE standards.
Source for that information?
There are issues related to EVs, but this isn’t one. I am sad to admit my 2019 AMG GT63s has no spare. It comes with a can of sealant and an air pump. Fine for a simple puncture. I would prefer at least a donut spare.
Not one Tesla Owner I know could change a Tire if their life depended on it.
Corvettes and Camaro’s don’t have Spares, either... Where are you going to put the 11”-13” wide wheel you take off?
“The Link doesn’t lie!”
But you did.
He cites COST OF OWNERSHIP, not repairs and includes other factors such as depreciation (his words). That is only for the S model and is for FIVE years, not four as you stated.

Do you intentionally mislead because you have an agenda?
The Hidden Costs of EVs: Ohio Man Gets $42,000 Repair Bill After Fender Bender in Electric Truck
The shop he sent his truck to “completely disassembled” the back of the truck, according to Apfelstadt, and discovered much more damage than previously thought based on exterior inspection alone — so much more that the “final bill” for his fender bender came to more than $42,000. Apfelstadt told Just The News the “at-fault driver’s insurance covered the entire repair bill” since her policy had a $50,000 cap.
Replacing the battery
The cost of replacing an electric car battery is significantly higher than replacing a battery in a gas-powered car. Whereas a battery for a gas car typically wouldn’t exceed a few hundred dollars, EV batteries can range anywhere from $5,000 to $22,000. ConsumerAffairs.com reports that replacement costs for older models like the 2014 Nissan Leaf or the 2014 Tesla Model S are a steep $13,500 and $17,269, respectively.
