Probably because Biden was doing it so ham-fisted that Obama wanted no part of it. Barry had professionals that knew how to launder money through non-profits, NGO's, etc. Biden used his own family to do it. Barry was bringing far more and doing it in a way that insulated him from investigation.

Obama actually didn’t support the DNC. He would go out and give speeches, get his fees for that event and keep it for himself. Some dims and their media grumbled a bit, but it was quickly forgiven.
