The writers aren't writing for the U.S. demographic mix, they're writing for the demographic mix of those who still watch television. Notice how few ads or products are directed at Asian consumers. Notice how few are directed at Caucasians.
Those demographics have been leaving it behind for decades. Smartphones, the internet, and video games have surpassed it. In Q3 2022, for the first time in history, all television viewership, including cable and time-shifted viewing, dropped below radio listener-ship.
If I don’t see it at the gas pump, or the grocery store, where’s the fallout?
