Leaving aside, for the moment, legitimate concerns others have raised over the bill, how hard is it to get good legislation passed in red state Florida? It’s interesting how the Establishment has trained us to be grateful when common sense laws get passed.
Others have questioned the wisdom of making child rape punishable by death, arguing that it incentivizes killing the victim to avoid prosecution.
But leaving that aside, is there anything in this legislation that any of you couldn’t have thought of? If crafting good legislation that is guaranteed to pass into law were the only problem we faced, our problems would have been solved long ago.
It’s amazing how people try to elevate a guy who has the gift of a legislative super majority, into some unstoppable force of nature simply for doing the right thing when it was easy to do so.
