“If the 17th Amendment is repealed, the Senate will swing fas to the left.”

No, it wouldn’t. And the Republicans would also have a solid majority.

https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/404337-is-it-time-to-repeal-the-17th-amendment/

The 17th Amendment to our constitution changed the way Senators are chosen to serve in the Congress. As ratified in the original constitution, Senators were chosen by state legislatures to serve for a term of six years, while Representatives in the House were to be chosen by direct vote of the people. This is the principle behind “Bicameralism” – two branches of the legislative body answering to two separate constituencies, the Senate to the elected state governments and the House directly to the people. The 17th Amendment changed this to provide for Senators being elected by the popular vote.

Current State legislature control by party:

Republican: 28
Democrat: 19
Split: 3

If the 17th Amendment were repealed:

Republican senators: 56
Democrat senators: 38
Split: 6

Do rulings from the scotus even matter any longer? Does anyone believe Biden’s IRS is going to follow rules of ethics and constitutionality?

What’s Lois Lerner up to these days?

“Grossly, blatantly violates 4th amendment. How can it even be an issue???”

The 14th is where this and all cases against the income tax should rest. All citizens have the right to equal PROTECTION under the law. The tax code completely obliterates this concept.

You and I may recognize that the income tax violates every principle of the Constitution, but sadly the fix is in. No Justice will ever have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to this egregious extortion racket.

“I just assumed the IRS already could and did do this whenever they darn well felt like it.”

Lee, doesn’t matter how the court rules. The IRS will just keep doing whatever it wants. It has plenty of bullying power to make the banks kowtow.

The national security state has slipped beyond all controls and will continue to accumulate power until the nation bows down to it.
