Sorry, but if you’re among those who slavishly believe everything that the Biden administration, neocons and Ukrainian propagandists say about this INSANE unnecessary war then YOU are among the “crazies”. And questioning the validity of the RELENTLESS Ukrainian propaganda posted here is NOT ROOTING FOR RUSSIA.

The neocons are the ones like you who get all wet and dreamy eyed over the possibility of the old Soviet Union returning so your foreign policies of 40 years ago would be relevant again.

Analogies drawn from the crises of the present to Europe in the 1930’s are seldom useful. Anyone taking the place of the Nazis in these analogies is so obviously evil that all other considerations become irrelevant. Even so, the parallels in this case at the start of the Russian invasion were uncanny.
From ethnic nationalism to appeasement to attacking countries after signing solemn treaties, the parallels seem plain.
A year or so on however it seems we can see some limits to that analogy. While both Nazi Germany and Putin’s Russia planned to gobble up weaker neighbors while their stronger opponents slept, Putin’s’ Russia has failed even before it has gotten around to attacking its ultimate target.
At this point Russia is so damaged that it may never be able to move on to the Baltic nations (and much less Poland), even if the West cravenly forces Ukraine accept Russia’s promise for peace in exchange for chunks of Ukrainian territory.
The ‘pro-Russia crazies” are to late to save Russia. They could still save Putin, but Russia’s dreams of hegemony over the old Soviet controlled world are now beyond its grasp.
Ironically, what those people may still accomplish is to further damage the US or West’s reputation for strategic reliability and to encourage China to take a gamble on Taiwan. If they are successful in pushing ‘peace’ they just might cause the real third world war to break out.
