I’ve never taken a lot at REI’s wokeness
I rarely order anything anymore .
Being Seattleites it doesn’t surprise me .

Most of the sorts of things I might buy from REI can also be had at Cabelas/BassPro.

REI will be having a going out of business SHOPLIFTING sale in Portland. 🤓
At least they’ll still be open for this coming Christmas shoplifting season.
What’s wrong with a little feral rumspringa?
REI's niche is a little different - hikers, kayakers, light campers (as opposed to "heavy" i.e. out of truck or camper). They have nifty little lightweight tents for hikers, camp stoves, etc. And their hiking boots are higher quality than Cabela's.
That said, now that the kids are too old for Scouting, about the only thing I buy there are their wool socks, which are much higher quality than anything at Bass Pro or Cabela's. I already have the Yakima racks, and I bought the roof box at Cabela's. And the Keen hiking boots at Cabela's are good enough, and fit me nicely.
