If the facts of the case are anything close to what has been reported.

That is a very big "IF".

I will take the bet that there are major omissions in the "facts" that have been reported. It is even possible, albeit unlikely, that the shooting was justified.

The "tell" is that the police released the shooter without charges. They don't usually do that, especially when the shooter is a white man, and the target is a black man. Police know full well that riots can follow if they don't punish the white man. They really don't want to deal with riots.

Yes, that is racism in reverse. In any conflict, blacks are presumed innocent, and whites are presumed guilty until proven otherwise. Commonplace in these fallen times.

I will wait just a bit before condemning the homeowner.

It is very sad but unfortunately if you belong to a group that is known for preying on vulnerable persons, and a tendency for crime people will put their guard up at your approach. Sometimes the reaction ends in tragedy. This is a good reason why the black community has to start realizing how policies that coddle and excuse crime is really hurting them.
