I know injection sites do work to reduce deaths and help addicts get treatment in other places. But I have come to the conclusion they just can’t work here. It’s ironic that the same people who embraced COVID lockdowns and masking and mandatory vaccines are the same who will put legal roadblocks up to requiring common sense policies for injection sites.
Policies such as
Person must have a permanent address and be a resident where the center is located.
Person must take part in therapy and treatment
Needles are for use at the center only. No shooting up in the street.
Person must agree to medical exam.
A history of failed efforts to get off the drug.
Strict limits on the number of people to be served by the sites.
In the U.S. the sites are just convenient shooting galleries. That just makes the problem worse.
Hasn’t fentanyl mostly replaced heroin as the illegal drug of choice these days?
When you subsidize a behavior, you get more of it. Woke liberals need a crash course in Economics 101 (not to mention biology to teach them what a woman is).
The Democrat Party has long since decided to play the part of "cool" parents in the way it enables and encourages drugs and destructive behavior. And by doing this, it is destroying millions of lives and the country itself.
There is no solution to drug addiction, short of mass, unhesitant execution of all addicts. Interdicting the supply and banning drugs just makes for a lucrative and unstoppable drug supply and market. The War on Drugs obviously failed.
You have to stop it on the demand end - eliminating every addict caught, Chinese CCP-style. A cheap pistol round really can end the problem very quickly. But even that won’t completely eliminate the problem unless you really, really put down every last one.
Since Westerners and other free people won’t do that, we have to simply accept it’s a problem that will never go away and keep getting worse. Not every problem has a solution. This is one. Like Tom Sowell said, there are no solutions, only trade-offs.
Not just for the traffickers. For the ADDICTS. You can’t have a drug problem without addicts. Eliminate the addicts and you have eliminated the addiction.
Very little boy anymore
Mostly fentanyl which is cheap
You can stay high all day for 20 bucks
Man I’ve probably dealt with this past five years more than anyone here
Overdoses
Deaths from dope
Killings
Rapes
Murders
Robberies
Try having a 24 hour business next to a junkie camp with 11-1200 dopers
Mostly predatory zombies
Some of them I could have killed with zero conscience
So easily fixed
China and India quit making the shit
Codeine does not need to be injected.
What if... that is the plan. Cause and help users off themselves. It’s sort of feels that way sometimes.
