I remember the olden days, when that is what Republican candidates did.
They discussed policy, not personalities.
Then along came the politics of personal destruction.
That was always the Democrats.
Now we see the front-running Republican doing this to another candidate, who has a sterling record as the Governor of Florida.
Why is Trump acting this way?
“not presidential material.”
I remember decades ago when they said that about a haberdasher from Missouri...Harry Truman.

If you start out like losers McCain and Romney, you’ll end up like losers McCain and Romney. For whatever reason — money, expertise, or being owned, DeSantis has decided to join the RINOs / GOP-elites / country clubbers / neocons / never Trumpers. Not voted for one of them since McCain and only because he chose Palin. Won’t do it again.
You’re a better man than I.
Should Trump withdraw or by some misfortune be denied the nomination, I will write Trump on my ballot.
DeSantis has turned me off
Could it be that he hasn’t declared himself a candidate?
We don’t point out some of Trump’s vulnerabilities here.
I am of the same mind, which is why I wrote “on that score”. I thought she would make a great National Security Advisor or even SecState, but because of all the other issues, including those you listed, not my choice for president.
In her interview with Jordan Peterson, she not only made a great showing on FP, but exposed how congress critters on both sides spend more time fundraising than doing their jobs (long, but worth a listen as you do household tasks):

So long as our elected representatives are more focused on fundraising and schmoozing with big donors and lobbyists than actually doing their jobs, we’ll never “drain the swamp” and “fight Deep State”. We need to fix this for the sake of our Republic, or we won’t keep it. The sort of campaign finance reform we really need is never discussed. Gee, I wonder why?
I would love for Gabbard to get more attention in the press and “the national discourse” when it comes to those two issues: FP and fundraising. She is one of the few who have the wisdom and courage to make a good case on both fronts.
If only she were right when it came to all the other issues, she would be perfect. Sadly, she takes the positions you listed. Until we enact electoral and campaign finance reform, though, all is lost. First things first.
trump claims the experimental shots are “safe and effective”...
“trump claims the experimental shots are ‘safe and effective’...”
I hope you have a macro set up for that, otherwise your hands will get tired by typing it over and over and over and over and over again. [yawn]
Did Trump actually say, “safe AND EFFECTIVE”? I know he said “safe”, but don’t recall “effective”. Maybe he did, but I can’t find that.
The crowd in Waco was hugh
. The cameras followed the plane as it came in view.. rowdy waiting.. watching..plane landed right behind the stands.. Trump came out..
The whole atmosphere was something no other candidate receives..
Trump is a big man, a big personality. And shows he cares just being there.
Anyone else cannot match what and who he is.
A welcome that is not given to the stale wannabes.
You can say your opinion.. but DJT has the floor. The talent, and the people.
DeSantis..not this time around.
I have started to wonder if David Ickes was right and that it’s the “unseen hand” who selects Presidents/uses them as puppets. Surely at some point we really had a country like our Founders intended?
