IF I owned a moderately / big oil company,,,,I'd just close up shop.
Not many oil companies drilling around there anyway.
Screw them.

That’ll shut things down. I’m sure the greenies will love it

Here is a typical comment on the same story from the DUmmy geniuses at DU:
It's about god damn time! Inflation is just a kinder euphemism for price gouging and outright greed.
These idiots really deserve every ounce of pain they get from laws like this.

Meanwhile, the US is exporting record amounts of the stuff OUT of the country.
And Sacramento clearly has no prob with THAT.

One wonders whether long, long lines at remaining gas stations (reminiscent of 1974) might make Cali drivers think twice about the importance of that "vote" thingy.
Nah.

I remember the 1970s when Arab Oil Embargo sent the price of a barrel of oil skyrocketing!
Some egghead in Washington declared that the US oil companies could not sell the oil from old wells at the new higher price but had to sell at the old lower price. ONLY NEW Wells could sell at the higher price.
So the oil companies shut down the old wells and drilled “new” wells right next to them to get the higher price.
I heard that from oil workers from Wyoming to Texas.

Hey Gavin & your commie democrats: How about an anti-tax-gouging law.. California’s excise taxes on gasoline come to 51 cents per gallon.

The state makes the most money from a gallon of gas.
