“While the U.S. has many vital national interests...becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them”

BINGO!

Angers G.O.P. Hawks

I want "GOP hawks" to mean GOP members who believe in strong security for the US, starting with a strong border wall. The Bush/Cheney forever-war ghouls can take their anger and go to hell. They are responsible for thousands of young Americans needlessly killed and maimed in Iraq and Afghanistan and billions upon billions of tax dollars squandered.

You using Reddit terms like “Karen” is pretty laughable too. Please stop while you still have a little dignity.

Another reason DeSantis is the real deal.

I have no doubt he is the real deal. He's clearly been a great governor for Florida.

I personally think he did right by the Rona lockdowns and such, despite being for them in the beginning. Good policy - remain cautious until we have more/better intel to make a more informed decision. It really seems to me that is how he handled it. And, let's face it - Trump has been pushing the hokey pokey since its inception, so I view them equally on the Rona issue. No candidate/politician/elected official can be right 100% of the time. Rush Limbaugh cornered the market on that.

Here are my issues with DeSantis:

1. He is a polished politician. This move shows he is the type that will sway with political winds. Right now, those winds say he should be against funding Ukraine. If those winds were to shift, he would as well. He is a politician, and they have one goal: get elected and stay elected.

2. He has done great with the Florida legislature, but DC isn't the Florida legislature. Hell, the DC GOP isn't the GOP of Florida. DeSantis will face the exact same opposition as Trump if he attempts a Trump-esque administration. It will be a whole new world for DeSantis, from the governing perspective.

My issues with Trump:

1. He didn't go scorched earth on Hitlery, or the Democrats, after promising he would. Well, his refusal to get his hands bloody politically speaking has led to his constantly being attacked by the scorched earth leftists. He failed to follow the Art of War and left his enemy with more than enough determination & will to fight back. Horrible decision. He should have used every ounce of power he had as President to completely flay the left open for all to see and to absolutely crush them and their will. He had every opportunity to do it, and just didn't.

2. He relied on the enemy when he should have been leaning on true, strong Conservatives. Instead, he went with the likes of Sessions, et al. Now, I believe that part of that was the Turtle's doing and that Trump was likely presented with a prequalified list of candidates that would get through the nomination process in the Senate, which would tie his hands on the issue. Make no mistake, the same with happen to DeSantis.

These things being said, I will vote for Trump in the primaries. If DeSantis is the winner, I'll vote for him in the general and then watch to see what he does.

Most if not all of the more prominent neocons left their (nominal) Republican credentials and returned to their real homes in the Democrat party during the Trump campaign or administration. “NeverTrump” was always just a re-brand of the word neocon. A few holdouts among the fringes of the base, but the politics of this are super-clear. And any candidate who wants, say, consideration in a Trump cabinet surely understands that.

Man, you’ve taken the government line hook, line and sinker. Other than in Hillary’s Russia, Russia, Russia fantasies, when did Russia attack us or NATO? Where in the NATO Charter is any of this authorized? Where are the UN troops? What treaty requires any American or NATO involvement. What possible risk to the US could Russia’s occupation of four oblasts on its border be? Are you trotting out the corrupt murderous world policeman again. I would think you’d learn about these overseas adventures after getting 15,000 American boys and a million mostly innocent Arabs killed looking for Saddam’s yellow cake. We sure showed the Saudis who attacked us 9/11 what for by slaughtering all those Afghans 6000 miles away. You guys get me. The US can go 10,000 miles away, send 2 1/2 million men, get 56,000 killed and a million locals, ravage three countries for a decade to prevent the first domino from falling on the other side of the world. Russia, after watching 30 years of 100% west to east revanchist western expansion to the very border of Russia, has been forced to react. Russia, with the largest offensive military behemoth the world has ever seen sitting on its border, a days tank ride to Moscow is trying to keep the very last domino from falling. If it does we all lose.

Reagan even pissed off the “Hawks” when he met Gorby in Reykjavik, they felt betrayed that he would even meet the leader of “The Evil Empire”.

editorial note: the word “revanchist” was almost never used in the US, until as a last gasp of communism, it was brought back into use in Russia against its internal critics. As such, it might blow the cover of a Russian sympathizer when used today. Just saying.

Clever attempt on your part at misdirection. Of course, if you look up the definition, you’ll see it totally applies. It’s well known that this site is monitored by the FBI goon squad. A clever fellow like you, working to expose social media commissars like me, might accidentally expose his identity as FBI stooge. Nah, you’re not that sharp. Just another woke globalist useful idiot.
