So why did Pence wait until 1pm the day of to let Trump and the J6 attendees know that he had decided to not pursue reviewing the claims of fraud, broken laws? The timing alipne says a lot.

He already had plans in place to skedaddle out of town immediately aftern, which he did. Where did he go? Maybe to join with Ronna Romney and the other GOPe already down at Amelia Island.

Trump was and is liberal on many issues. Good on business taxes and he didn’t want wars. Poor on COVID response and endless “stimulus” spending, bans on evicting renters, and trying to continue “stimulus spending” into 2021 (if he had won).
He’s also undisciplined and made enemies of people he needed to be allies.
Well, he was a NY Republican occasionally Democrat most of his life! So, it’s not too surprising.
