The way most states award electors is a threat to democracy. The winner take all system disenfranchises a large part of the population. Electors should be allotted by the results in each Congressional district.

Our democracy ...

Democracy? We are a constitutional Republic. If you believe the electoral college is not democratic, the same argument applies to our election of Senators; i.e., disproportionate power where low population states hold equal power to high population states. If you want 1 man 1 vote for all things, eliminate the concept of states and make all laws require passage by referendum vote by voters where a simple majority of voters make law.
