Steve Keeley. Only real news hound in the world.
Now we have a white criminal killed a black police officer. What will this do for “the narrative”?
Don’t know if they are MAGA, but they are definitely white.
Need to IMPEACH that Governor for NOT Supporting the OATH he took.
My guess is Pfeffer is nothing more than a spoiled narcissist. Hard to say if he has enough interest in the world around him to be Antifa. If there is such an affinity, it might be reflected in his social media. Given his youth and physical appearance, he may not have an easy time of it in prison. But, he should work on adjusting since that will be his life from this point forward.
Charging the mother is a tough call. It is not known what Pfeffer told his Mom when she picked him up. Even if he confessed on the spot, it is hard to imagine any mother simply abandoning her child or calling the police. While that is what she should have done, legally, assuming she knew what he did, it may be hard for a jury to look past the intense emotions of that moment and convict her as an accessory. Likewise, the fact she took him home, rather than to the nearest bus or train station to get away, also speaks to the love of a mother for a child and not an accomplice seeking to thwart justice.
With regard to the brother, again not a simple answer. The fact the brother was present at the time of the shooting does not mean he was involved. As a matter of law, merely being present at the scene of a crime does not mean the person was involved. The prosecution would have to show that the brothers agreed to kill the Officer and that each did something to further that objective. Particularly in the case of first degree murder, each defendant must be shown to have had the specific intent to kill at the time of the murder. The intent to kill of brother number 1 does not transfer to brother number 2. That the brother was hiding in the alley when the Officer was shot seems to undercut the idea that the brother intended to kill.
