Truly a chilling scene in that movie
I’ve never seen “The Deer Hunter” in all these years.
Maybe some day.
IMHO, The Deer Hunter is best movie about the Vietnam War.
Apocalypse Now after that.
I really used to like De Niro as an actor until I realized what a flaming Ahole he was.
Walken is also an incredible actor. There are multiple scenes in movies like the ones in “True Romance” or “Pulp Fiction” where he deserved another Best Supporting Oscar. He won BSA for his role in the Deer Hunter.
Another great actor that was in TDH was John Cazale. Every movie he was in won the Best Picture at the Academy Awards. He was in The Godfather I & II(Fredo), Dog Day Afternoon and The Deer Hunter.
The Deer Hunter also had John Savage, George Dzundza and a very young Meryl Streep when she was relatively unknown.
I would highly recommend it.
