Seriously, is a Garand considered an "assault rifle" since the mag does not remove and replace like the AR and AKs? I heard a cool story about crafty wartime GIs and their Garands. Garands ejected their clips when the last round was fired. They would load them up, then "ping" a spare clip on the ground to fool the enemy into thinking the rifle was empty.
Remember 1968 when the US news media and politicians demonized the “Foreign SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL and the 5 shot bolt action army surplus rife till they got them banned?
The same rifles were legal to import after 1968 IF they were issued to a police force and not military.
Once they got those two types of firearms banned they then went after other firearms.
“Finally Canadian people saying NO”
Really? The nudge continues unabated. Each time these leftist globalists attempt to chest bump us back 10 feet, we see victory that we only took one step back.
After decades of this, we’re back 30 feet, one foot at a time.
I’ve posted on FR several times about Canadian firearms laws and my experience with them. Namely, each year for years I’ve traveled down the Yukon River in Yukon Territory and also in Alaska. I’m leaving May 15 again towing a boat I built.
But, each time, I get to the border, file my several pages of PALS paperwork, pay $25.00, and 5 minutes later I get in my vehicle and leave. They don’t even bother to look at my guns. So, these Canadian laws back in Eastern Canada make liberals feel good but carry little enforcement a continent away in Western Canada. Needless to say, I would be insane to go down the Yukon without a gun.
I guess anything that can be used to go against An over arching government who wants to control our party or life is in fact an assault weapon. Pretty soon they’ll be banning sharpen sticks because you might be able to threaten a government official with it Add commit assault.
Sorry to hear that. They waited too long.
