I agree 100%.

An incident recorded in Scripture stands out for me. It is the manner in which a noble and godly king, Josiah, met his unfortunate death. He had decided to needlessly involve himself in the Battle of Carchemish. The primary combatants had not been involved in any hostilities towards Judah. Pharaoh Necho of Egypt admonished him that it was none of his business and to stay out. I believe the Lord warned him as well. He didn't listen.

The point is that you never entangle your forces in conflicts involving others and be wary of making alliances. World War 1 came about because of that.
