I’ve been embarrassed by my countries leaders before, but the FR crowd is “hooked on a line and sinker”. Like we can take Russia down like we did Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Vietnam, Korea....well we did stand down as the hordes laid waste to Libya for the helluvit while our elite grabbed some pilfered Gold bullion though.
If they refuse orders, of course he should execute them. As would our troops when they refuse to follow orders.

What would Russias new leader do? Why worry about Iran having nukes? Russias next President will make the planners of the firebombing of Dresden look like pikers.
Is there really that many warmongers on Free Republic? Or just fools who think Russkies will fall like over-ripened fruit if we but flex? Think of how the US reacted after 9/11, and then add in true resolve. It is THEIR country, and I don’t care what Ukraine says. If they can defend it without dragging us into a WW 3, more power to them, but they cannot.
