EV Car/truck ratings are as useful as Madam Divine’s physic readings for $10.

They are popular with suburbanites. They will hold a lot of groceries and sacks of mulch from Home Depot.

This kind of favoritism was bound to be a determining factor in this modern age. It does not matter if EV’s are overall a non workable construct given current technology.

The judges evaluate finalists on innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, user experience and value.

LOLOL...everything but daily driver practicality. "User experience" means head-snapping acceleration with a fresh charge and ability to haul a load 75 miles before needing a three hour recharge on a cold day.

Would anybody be surprised learn that these judges were PAID by the federal government to anoint the EVs?

The AP propaganda outlet is excited about fake awards promoting their political agenda.

How fast does a Kia Ev6 accelerate when it is plugged in?

For what it's worth, my wife and I spend less time in a year waiting on our EV to charge than we spend waiting for our ICE pickup to fill up at gas stations, even though we do most of our driving in the EV.

Why? We wait 10-15 minutes to charge the EV on trips (fast chargers). It takes 5 or so minutes to fill the ICE pickups. So it seems like charging the EV would take up more of our personal time. But the fact is that the ICE pickup requires us to wait for fill ups every time we fill it up. But our EV requires us to wait for a charge only when charging during a trip. That's because charging for local driving is done at home, which involves a few seconds to plug it in then walk away from it and ignore it until the next morning.

Introducing the F-150 Lightning! The electric truck that can tow you boat 75 miles between charges!!

Hope you live closer than that to the lake and they better get some charging stations put in the boat ramp parking lot.

More activist awards…

If I needed a fleet truck or possibly a farm truck that I knew NeverTrump was traveling more than 50-100 miles a day and rarely had to tow or carry anything heavy fine… but that’s far to limiting for the general case of a pickup.

Much like ford paid Tiffany to invent an award for the mustang, merit had little if anything to do with these awards

There are no awards of any type that are based upon merit these days. Everything has to singled out on the basis of how woke or PC it is.

You may have made a typo, but you’re still correct, because they’re priced like they’re gold carts.

It depends on how tightly the plug fits in the receptacle.

Isnt the Lightning the ev that took about a week to charge using a wall outlet?
Probably not the correct way to do it. But seems rather inconvenient.

Better to buy a place on the lake.

There you can charge your electric boat at your dock.

Nobody actually uses them as ‘trucks’, but they look great in your fossil fuel heated 6 vehicle garage beside your real F150, your Hummer, your Cadillac, your Navigator and your Corvette.

Remember that big fad for ‘near’ meat veggie burgers a couple of years ago??? Yup... It’s kind of like that. Poor sales, lack of demand and then they slipped off the menu and into oblivion.
