He was adamant that the winters are milder now than in his youth during the 1940s.

The data from ground-based weather recording stations in Maine tell a different story. The weather is constantly changing from one year to the next and from day to day. We had weather where we live in December where the high temperature one day was 30 degrees higher than the next.
