These idiots are so narcissistic they never in their wildest dreams imagined they were expendable. But of course they are just ordinary dime-a dozen copywriters, who think they are Ernest Hemingway or Ernie Pyle.

Pelousy proposed funding these idiots with good ‘ol taxpayer dollars. Either the proposal did not proceed, or perhaps that is part of Pelousy’s zillions of $$$$$ she ‘earned’ and is taking home from all her hard work.

So, the Washington Post joins Twitter and Meta in the layoffs. (Amazon, too?) The New York Times may be facing a similar downsizing once management reacts to the Great Walkout.
Can the Boston Globe be far behind? How about the Associated Press?

Until the these riffed people can learn to code, I suggest the hospitality industry, in particular
fast food. It's honest work, all honest work is worthy. But most of all it's
diverse.
Your coworkers most likely come from very diverse backgrounds. There's Kwasei, Pedro, Thao, Ja'Kwan, Ramesh, and Muhammed—names you won't find in the Washington Post executive suite. Finally you will have a chance to actually live the wonderful diversity which you have been telling us about for some many years! Finally! A new diverse chapter in your life awaits …

My guess is that some readers got tired of WaPo's woke crap and ended their subscriptions. Which is bad for their business.

Why isn’t the Washington Post reporting this?Employment matters are deemed confidential?

as I so often say about CNN and MSNBC, who have now shrinking audiences - A rational business person would say
“Something isn’t working here. We need to find a larger customer base that creates revenues”
And yet they all plug along on the same course, wondering what’s wrong.
So much for those Harvard MBA’s!

It would be ironic, but fitting, if the Washington Post folded just in time for the fiftieth anniversary of their coverage of Watergate. Perhaps this would put an end to every liberal reporters' fantasies of being Woodward or Bernstein.

Not surprisingly, the employees (presumably made up primarily of journalists) erupted into a mass chatter of squawking chickens, demanding answers as well as job guarantees. Typical progs.
Demand this, demand that, they deserve a paycheck forever because, well, they are prog.

Looks like all Bezos companies are on hard times. He must not be such a great businessman after all.

Could be worse for these paid agitators. Stalin encouraged the Bolsheviks to revolt, then shot them.

There should be mass protests against the owner of wapo for being so selfish as to lay these people off. He has plenty of money and should pay them out of his pocket no matter the state of revenue or subscriptions.
Bezos the stingy brute.
