DeSantis is extraordinarily careful with his messaging. He always says exactly what he means to say, and no more. Putting himself in a position that would require him to defend everything said by another politician is just anathema to who he is.
This is the first I’ve heard of DeSantis backtracking on Disney. I did hear that the legisl00ture was apparently reconsidering reversing the end to the Reedy Creek District, but I heard nothing about DeSantis having a part in that.
Yep, it’s like my uncle said some years ago: for anybody to get into politics, it’s like they have to compromise or sell out some part of them to do so (paraphrased).
I’ve read better articles in high school newspapers (that have been around a lot longer than this publication). FReepers will post anything these days.
Like most conspiracy theorists, they have a quick answer for everything that conveniently requires no proof of its truthfulness.
“Uniparty”
I’m sure they allowed Republicans to gain super majorities in the State house and Senate and leave Democrats without a statewide office for the first time since reconstruction
I live in Florida and when I travel to other states I nearly always hear those state residents saying: “We really like your Governor.”
Why aren’t we hearing the same thing about the GOP Governors in the other 30 states?
It appears to me that the GOP bench of potential Presidential candidates is pretty slim.

Ditto.
I see you’re in charge of the circular firing squad here. Big surprise.

The only way that leaders like DeSantis can serve the most people that they can under the Constitution is to keep their governor jobs.
In fact, after "street fighter" Trump 47 finishes draining the swamp, which hopefully includes working with the states to surrender state powers that the unconstitutinally big federal government has been stealing from the states since before the ink of the Constituiton had dried, then Trump can finish his 2nd term in office by spending more time on the golf course as the drafters of the Constitution had effectively intended for a peacetime president to do.
"10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
"Many are the exercises of power reserved to the States [emphasis added] wherein a uniformity of proceeding would be advantageous to all. Such are quarantines, health laws, regulations of the press, banking institutions, training militia, etc., etc." —Thomas Jefferson to James Sullivan, 1807.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"They form a portion of that immense mass of legislation, which embrace every thing in the territory of a state not surrendered to the general government [emphasis added]. Inspection laws, quarantine laws, and health laws, as well as laws for regulating the internal commerce of a state, and others, which respect roads, fences, &c. are component parts of state legislation, resulting from the residuary powers of state sovereignty. No direct power over these is given to congress, and consequently they remain subject to state legislation, though they may be controlled by congress, when they interfere with their acknowledged powers." —Justice Joseph Story, Article I, Section 10, Clause 2, 1833.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
Also note that Justice Louis Brandeis had reflected on Bingham's words above when he introduced his "laboratories of democracy" metaphor to emphasize the 10A-protected power of the states to serve the people, ultimately depending on what state-based social spending programs the legal majority citizen voters of a given state want.
"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.
But the states won't be able to do their 10A jobs to serve the people until Trump leads the states to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes according to the excerpt from Gibbons v. Ogden above.
So says “The Miami Independent” which has a long history of investigative reporting and analysis dating back all the way to 2022, when it was established.
Trump Bots will destroy their candidate if they keep this up.....
Trump Bots will destroy their candidate if they keep this up.....
“As a Trump supporter I’ll refrain from judging Desantis based on something written in the Miami Indepenent.”

You’re right.
Just another phony hit piece trying claim that veteran and self made man from a small Florida town DeSantis is somehow the picture of elite big business, but somehow not the son of a NY City real estate tycoon Trump who has spent his entire life building and frequenting lavish resorts and schmoozing with the rich and famous.
I’m nit putting Trump down for it, as I greatly admire the man and how he has furthered his father’s empire to much greater heights, and especially most of his term as President, but let’s be real between who is more likely to have cut a lot of secret back room deals between powerful elitists how about.
As of today, DeSantis is out front leading attacks against Disney, Pfizer, Moderna, and most recently any “woke” company promoting the homo or ESG agenda, which has forced Blackrock and Vanguard to take notice and even start stepping away from the agenda, if you haven’t been following along.
What has Trump been doing to fight the elites and their woke agenda?
Probably a waste of time for DeSantis...
The ballots for the 2024 election are already being printed and filled out in thousands of basements & storerooms in schools, churches, liquor stores, and industrial park facilities...
115 million communist votes are Soros’ 2024 goal...
He didn’t fail to reach his goals in the 2020 & 2022 elections...
