Yes, 41 year old sailors are acceptable, but they must be a size 12 or smaller.
I retired from the USAF at 41. While I enjoyed my time while I was in, I never missed it for a second when I retired. It is for a young person to put up with the crap you have to go through. I can’t imagine trying to start in the military at 41. It would not work, for the person or the Navy.
