“Accounting degrees usually result in accounting position.”
Yes - another practical degree that usually results in a good job and salary.

Well it’s certainly not gender studies or diversity majors, these people are getting hired like crazy.

Women/black/gay studies, probably the most useless major in any college. You're kidding, right?
Guaranteed diversity job at any Federal, State, or local agency, or at any University or cow college, $100K plus/year and pension + healthcare, no work required, no negative evaluations ever - and you think that major is useless?

BY the way, when I was in college, we laughed at the English and Psych majors, with Drama majors a close third. An accounting major graduates, gets the first job and says how do we cut costs and make it cheaper.
An engineering major graduates, gets the first job and says how can we design this better.
A liberal arts major graduates, gets the first job and says do you want fries with that.

"(I majored in Economics, which isn’t listed, though it might be lumped in either with Finance or Market management/Research, which about offset eachother-—if I had to do it all over again, I might do that, or decide to screw up my life in a different way. Actually, it has been useful in many ways)."I've never met an Econ major who regretted a moment of it, especially the actuaries, who make crazy money for what they do.

You probably have met people who started off as Econ and then dropped because they found the math too difficult. I can’t say that I can recall meeting anyone who finished the degree who regretted it.
