Sounds like a joke that Trump has made several times in different contexts, though I’m sure he also does believe (and rightfully so) that he deserves a lot of credit for the “red wave” and for the fact that MAGA wouldn’t exist without him.

Do you really think anyone in the MSM or even the GOP is going to step up to the plate and sing his praises?

They all hate him.

That leaves President Trump to "toot his own horn" because no-one else is going to give him the credit he so richly deserves.

As for me, I fully support him singing his own praises, it is the right thing to do in this scenario.

You might be right. Sometimes Trump is talking and kind of half kidding and smiling and just being relaxed and funny. Hopefully that is the context. The media will pounce on a joke or just a passing funny comment and make it sound like he’s bitter or angry or something.
