Meh...so now they are also blaming the Sevastopol attack on British planning.
Sounds like the idiot Putin is triangulating Londonistan. We need to make clear that if he targets our good friends the Brits, we will bring civilization to an end in the Northern hemisphere.

Previously, the sinking Moskva too. And don’t forget the fairy tale about Boris Johnson stopping a peace deal.

I think you’re over the target. Putin knows Biden is weak. Every Russian base in occupied Crimea should have been a smoking ruin in March. So I would expect a major hybrid war attack someplace like GB soon. Putin, too, is weak and that’s about all he can do.

Breaking, Russia pulls out of their Grain deal in which they guaranteed safe passage. Brokered by Turkey a few months ago, but with the attack on Sevastopol today the deal is cancelled.

It is now obvious Vlad needs to take Odessa.

Note that they didnt say the British actually did it, but, by implication, that they materially assisted those who did.

Which leads me to repeat that it may well have been a Ukrainian operation.

The Poles are far more involved than anyone else.

In order to pound on Ukraines supporters you have to ignore the Poles, because it wont sell well to pound on THEM. They are too obviously virtuous and sincere. Hating Poland is bad propaganda.

Have the Russians admitted that they are thoroughly hated, and for excellent reasons?

Given the nature of the pipelines, anyone could have done it. It didnt require extreme high tech resources to find them and send down a couple of tons of HE.

A fishing trawler with sonar gear, steel cable and a fabricated grapple, and a few large bombs.

The Russian Firehose of Falsehood propaganda model in action.

Dennisw, I think this actually is reflective of the upgraded propaganda Russia is using now. Russia is blaming the United Kingdom for the both attack in Servastapol and the sabotage of Nordstream 1 and 2 at the same time. This is combining different events, that happened at different places and times, selectively putting multiple falsehoods together. I caught Cranked using the same trick here.

Its a attempt to create confusion, fear and intimidation simultaneously. After eight months of war, the last two months where Russia ultimately losing has become a realistic possibility, it is too late for this to work effectively. The older style of just lying instead of make more complicated lies assembled poorly worked better.

It’s funny the amount of gnashing of teeth that the provision of a tiny amount of the West’s junkyard leavings to Ukraine is causing among the Russian commentariat. Their official mascot ought to be a chihuahua, not a bear.

The principal American casualties (38,000 killed) in the Korean conflict involved US servicemen killed in ground combat and flying against Russian pilots, thanks to direct Russian involvement as well as the provision of copious amounts of late model Russian aircraft, tanks and other equipment to the Chinese and North Koreans. However, the Russians were also involved in both providing and laying naval mines that resulted in the sinking of 3 USN vessels and significant damage to others:

https://arsof-history.org/articles/v9n1_cia_paramilitary_sb_nemesis.html
[Russian military historians admitted that North Korea, with Soviet naval help, managed to emplace thousands of mines to protect the ports of Wonsan (3,000 alone), Hungnam, and Chinnamp’o. “These mine fields significantly reduced the activities of the American Navy,” stated Soviet MG V.A. Zolotarev. The USS Brush (DD-745) had its hull torn open mid-ship and its keel broken by a mine. Thirteen sailors were killed, thirty-one wounded, and it was off station almost a year. Two weeks after Incho´n, the USS Mansfield (DD-728) had twenty-seven wounded when its bow was severed by a mine. Seaman George Henderson said: “You could drive a city bus through the hole in her keel.” A year later it returned to the blockade. Mines sank three minesweepers, the USS Magpie (AMS-25) on 1 October 1950 and the USS Pirate (AM-275) and USS Pledge (AM-277) on 12 October 1950 in Wonsan harbor. Twenty-one seamen were lost.

Sea mines were very effective and truly insidious weapons. The final tally for sea mine losses/damages was five severely damaged U.S. destroyers [add the USS Walke (DD-723) on 12 June 1951, the USS Ernest G. Small (DD-838) on 7 October 1951, and the USS Barton (DD-722) on 16 September 1952. The five vessels had nine killed and eighteen wounded. Seven minesweepers were sunk [add the USS Partridge (AMS-31) to total four USN, one ROK Navy, and two Japanese Defense Forces]. A Seventh Fleet ocean tug, USS Sarsi (ATF-111) was sunk on 27 August 1952 off Hungnam. Four were killed and four wounded. Several Korean merchant vessels were also lost to mines.]

How many fishing trawlers have access to several tons of high explosives (with detonators) and the capacity to find, prepare, place, and detonate said explosives without a single person leaking the operation? This was not a fishing trawler and some yahoos.

Ukraine could easily have purchased a fishing trawler or some other civilian vessel, and supplied it with the appropriate equipment, including the explosives. These wouldn’t have been yahoos but probably members of the Ukrainian navy and special forces - yes, Ukraine has a navy.
