Putin ordered the invasion of Georgia and the Ukraine

He is not my friend. Nor is he the defender of anything but the communist state

Like US conservatives quoting the bible while turning the country over to the cancel culture. Yes hypocrisy abounds among politicians.

One thing I can say about Vlad is he loves Mother Russia . Biden loves only Biden . Well, maybe China after sending Hunter those millions . As for invading Ukraine . Would we allow Russia to murder Americans in the West of our country and then put nukes on Mexicos border ? Remember Kennedy and 63 ? I do .

I agree far FAR more with Putin than I do with the Globalists.

and yes I have objections to Putin obviously. He’s authoritarian, etc. He’s not a dictator though. He genuinely is popular and I have no doubt has been legitimately elected.

I can’t say the same of Biden.

Dostoyevsky and Tchaikovsky cancelled?

That’s weird, my classical music collection is mostly Russian and none of it’s been cancelled. My Netflix recommendations include Russian films. I can still buy books by Russian authors, in the high street book stores. I can still go to concerts, plays and ballets that Russian works.

It’s reached a point where Putin goes on TV, lets put a manifest whopper of a lie, and grins. He knows it’s a lie, but revels in the knowledge that there’s no limit to the extent of brain-dead vatnik propaganda gobblers to swallow it. And the more absurd the lies get, the more he laughs at tge fools who lap it up.

So there was no Euromaiden Revolution? I’ve been lied to all this time?

Not communist, statist. Where he controls the state. Xi is at least somewhat a communist, and thinks he is the successor to Mao. But they both share a belief in absolute state power, where the leadership must be viewed as infalliblle and the right to rule stems from force.

Mr. Putin is a dictator, he does not tolerate opposition. We are still very far from a dictatorship, “FJB” and “Let’s Go Brandon” can be found everywhere, and you and are free to post criticism of government policy as we see fit on this forum.

And in a few days a lot of people who hate the policies of the current administration are going to have real political power to obstruct, slow, undermine, and in some cases reverse Mr. Biden’s policies. That is unthinkable in Russia.

Where? And why?

In March a Cardiff concert dropped the 1812 overture out of a programme... because they’d planned on performing the cannon fire and decided that might be inappropriate given the invasion.

Other concerts in Cardiff continued to use different Tchaikovsky pieces, as well as those of other Russian composers.

I’ve had the pleasure of listening to public performances of Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Rimsy-Korsakoff, Mussorgsky, Shostakovich.

We’re heading into the winter season for The Nutcracker Suite, Peter and the Wolf, Lieutenant Kije.

Cancelled, my arse. A few woke decisions to not have cannon fire hasn’t impacted at all on the rest of the Rusdian classical music scene.

The principles of European integration had a democratic mandate right across the political spectrum. Revolutions overturn the status quo.

So Euromaidan wasn’t a revolution, because it was in support of the status quo.

The protests were triggered by the wholly undemocratic mothballing of the pro European mandate at the behest of Moscow. With no democratic mandate and no democratic discussion, Yanukovych signed toxic deals with Russia.

Euromaidan was the result of Ukraine going totally postal when his treason became public knowledge. The only revolutionary act was Yanukovych unilaterally tearing up Ukraine’s independence while signing the economy, energy and finally Crimea over to Putin.
