It’s for foreigners. Lots of Indian and Filipino Catholics are employed as basically indentured servants in that region.

Exactly, when we went to Morocco, we respected the local customs. I only ask others to do the same when they come here.

With all this “gay” business, I would suggest not flaunting, and be respectful that other parts of the world have different laws and social norms. You are subject to their laws and norms when visiting.

If you can’t abide this then don’t go to such a place.

This should be common knowledge and common behavior.

In Morocco, was the tea green tea with honey and a mint leaf?

Don’t remember. But when we went there it was during Ramadan, so as lunch was part of the tour, we were the only people in the restaurant eating. But it was an enjoyable day trip from Spain.

I know a guy from Philly that’s moving there after retirement.
Black dude. I think the dollar goes far there...

...and yet allowing Islam to spread across Europe isn’t going to be a problem ? These selfish people can’t see beyond their next election.

I bet this ends very badly for some fans. I’d like to think LGBT types would know better than to even go there but they’re so self absorbed and believe they’re untouchable they probably will.

Fruitcakes will be tossed into jail, or the Persian Gulf.

Or off of a roof. That’s a favorite method Muslims have for dealing with gays.

I was just searching Doha on Google, and there’s a Catholic Church in downtown Doha.

There’s one in downtown Baghdad too.

Around late 2007, people started going there again.

I know Iran digs that.

I would visit Qatar and UAE.
Maybe Saudi Arabia, but not Syria or Iran.

I would visit Qatar and UAE.

Both are pretty nice. Pretty beaches. Good restaurants. Interesting architecture.

Women are not required to cover up.

Booze is legal. (Just be sensible and don’t get hammered in public.)

I won’t go to Saudi, though now that they’re disdainful of Biden, they’ve come up a notch.

Jordan is my favorite Middle Eastern country. Great historical sites. Amman has a vibrant night life and great restaurants. Friendly people.

Not sure why the outrage except from the professionally outraged - a little compromise goes a long way. No buggery in the stands, no flying lessons from multistory buildings. Everybody’s happy.

I don’t booze anymore, but if I did I wouldn’t there.
Sometimes the Irish beats the brain...

I could check out Petra in Jordan. I wanted to see it since I saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

I’d like to see Queen Rania too. ;)

Petra is breathtaking. It’s also a workout - I remember being sore after my jaunt there. LOL

So is Wadirum, Aqaba and the Dead Sea. I loved traipsing around all of those places.

Jesus’ baptismal site is good too. It’s not a big area but the wow factor is high.

I don’t disagree. The Qatar authorities can and probably will respond to any provocative behavior of the LGBT sort. I only meant to say that tossing them into the Persian Gulf (=drowning them) would be seen as way too disproportionate and would cause Qatar too much trouble.
