Thanks for the link, Drago! :)
Natural gas was a buck a therm at the time, so it was a lot of money saved, and very comfortable in the living space.
I had to buy two wicks a season, and the wicks were 10-12 bucks.
The price of wicks was going up at the same time the EPA was crapping up the K1 supply.
L.L.Bean’s going to make a killing.
You should come to Portland to get gas. It is $3.50 to $3.74 a gal.
Maine’s gubernatorial candidates sparred over differing energy policies during last nights debate, with Mills saying she intended to work with the next Legislature to come up with a new welfare program to help Mainers pay higher energy bills this winter.
Typical dem response.
The mid 70s brought shortages, price increases and gas lines at the pumps...when they were open.
Richard Nixon(R)1969-1974 then Gerald Ford(R)1974-1977 were Presidents during that scam.
Nixon/Ford tried wage (freezes) and price controls.
Ford wanted everybody to wear WIN pins.
Whip Inflation Now.
Climate change. Get it right. Hot then it’s man made, cold it’s man made, wet it’s man made, dry it’s man made, famine it’s man made, fat people it’s the food producers fault. See how that works. Good.
she intended to work with the next Legislature to come up with a new welfare program to help Mainers pay higher energy bills this winter. The energy producers and their stock holders jumped to their feet and cheered!
Thank you for that. That was a well-written and short article that explained a lot I did not know.
Perhaps I show my age, but I had thought that one of the main negatives of sulfur dioxide emissions was “acid rain” - essentially allowing sulfuric acid to be forming in the atmosphere. The article did not mention this, so perhaps it is an understanding that has fallen out of favor.
I use kerosene in the home, and I know that I do not want the “brimstone” smell that sulfur provides. I don’t think I need the “ultra” treatment process to achieve this with satisfactory results.
I doubt it.
Maine has codified election fraud.
You are correct, “SOx” (Sulfur Oxides)(formed from Sulfur Dioxide) apparently lead to acid rain...it wasn’t directly mentioned in my initial link post (there was a link in the body of the text). Here is the link that mentions acid rain...(the EPA take on SO2):
