Ukraine is encricling Russians in Lyman??

Impossible!:

“The Ukrainian military is being systematically obliterated in the conflict.
Soon, it appears as though both Polish and Romanian troops may enter the fray. That makes sense, as the best Ukrainian soldiers are unlikely to be in the fight for a lot longer. Reinforcements will be needed for Ukraine, and their middling conscripts can’t cut it on the battlefield.
I’ve read this site for years but just joined to comment. I am flabbergasted at conservatives who distrust the media falling for blatant, embarrassing, nowhere-near-the-truth war propaganda. We’re better than this.

Wokeists might insist on the right to an opt -out and free-for-all in an existential war, but outside of that it’s really just a question of picking a side: with the defenders or with the invaders.

I don’t recall much protest from American conservatives when GWB said “you’re either with us or against us” after 9/11 and for some time the Muslim communities had to prove who’s side they were on, but I do remember legions of loony lefties playing whataboutism and arguing that we shouldn’t be beastly to the death cult Islamists.

To this day we Brits still can’t get our gnome Jeremy Corbyn to say a single bad word about Putin, Hamas or Al Qaeda. He’s a peacenik who can’t criticize side in any war unless he thinks we started it.

He’s like the lefties after 9/11 trying to make out that 9/11 was entirely the fault of American foreign policy and Al Qaeda were justifiably pissed off.

Some Putinistas are cut from the exact same cloth, and they are so utterly incapable of ever admitting to seeing anything wrong in Russian behavior that one has to ask whose side are they on.

Any peacenik who can’t criticize one side in war but can’t stop criticizing the other, is a propagandist not a pacifist.

“Tell us again the one about Ukraine is really Russia and ikr a Ukrainians couldn’t wait to be “liberated”.”

I know a gal that is from the Eastern part of Ukraine (she is now an American citizen and lives here). It is difficult for me to understand her (accent and me poor of hearing and she has a soft voice). But as far as I can tell her parents are in a part of the Ukraine that is Russian-speaking and was taken over by Russia several/many years ago. And they don’t seem to mind. However, from her telling it, it sounds like the M.O. for many of these regions is that a small group of pro-Russia Ukrainians will get organized and claim how they are they are the true voice of the people, and then Russia invades those areas “to bring peace and stability to the area.”

In fact when war first broke out she was worried that the U.S. would be bombing her parents.

After only a week though she was concerned about friends of hers that were fleeing the advancing Russians. (I think her parents have been farther to the east of the actual fighting.)

She said that she didn’t trust any of the news coming out of the area - neither the Russian news or the Ukraine news.

Earlier I thought that I could understand (but not agree to) Russia’s “reason” for invading so as to keep Ukraine from joining NATO. However, they haven’t invaded Finland so that probably isn’t Russia’s primary concern.

Of course Finland doesn’t have the oil, crops and industry that Ukraine has either.

He’s been posting pro-Russian propaganda ever since he joined FR. Check out his posting history. Every one of his comments has been some squawking point on behalf of Russia.

—-> On September 28, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen introduced a new package of measures, saying they are designed “to make the Kremlin pay” for escalating the conflict in Ukraine.

Ignorant and lousy leaders

My experience with the Left "peaceniks" - really pro-enemy cheerleaders - was during our war in Vietnam. You can imagine how wonderful it was for those of us who fought, lost friends/lost body parts and came back to see "anti-war" demonstrators carrying the enemy flag and chanting that "NLF will win".

Lefties have a mental illness - and I'm still pissed off at the parasites who went along with their scam so they could keep an intact skin.

I used to spend a lot of time at “the Shelter half” in Tacoma arguing with the VVAW and others of the left and watching North Vietnam war videos, at least I did that when it wasn’t off limits to active duty, a designation which came and went.

I’ve had many years of experience (60s and 70s) with the anti-war left, draft dodgers, draft evaders, the draft, draft resistance, escapees to Canada, and so on, and dealing with this anti-America/pro-Russia and for some, also pro-Red China group is the same.

That is why I have sometimes advised them to start handing out the free newspapers at the post gates as the GIs leave work, here and at our NATO bases and set up coffee houses, and go full out in their anti-Americanism.

It is clear that many of the pro-Russian “conservatives” on FR (Cranked, Kazan, NorseViking, etc.) are actually Russian trolls. If you took their views seriously the new Red Army would be rolling into Berlin about now.
