Correct. Snowden didn’t flee to Russia.
He was trapped there when his passport was cancelled by the U.S. State Department while in transit through Moscow.
So you worked for an organization that has been surveilling citizens for a long time, in a supposedly free country, and you’re defending that? We’ve always been at war with Eastasia

You imagine there is no internal spying by foreign powers that occurs within the US and communicates using electronic means? See Hauwei for a recent example.
Do you have any idea what it takes to keep this country safe? Obviously not. You are conflating issues and fictions that you know little about other than what you learned online, read about, or saw on the media news.
Disgusting.
The irony here is that Snowden would be welcome in many places all over the Global South but has been prevented from getting there by the Western imposed international dragnet.
In fact, now that China has asserted control over Hong Kong, he's probably welcome back there again. He'd be welcome all over Europe also, if not for the repressive European Union.
Snowden is hated by the neo-liberal deep state and their useful idiots because he exposed their deceitful illegal behavior, but not by the millions of people around the world who benefited from the knowledge.
-btw Snowden didn't flee to Russia, he got stuck there by the Obama administration which cancelled his passport while he was changing planes in Moscow on his way to SA.
