That’s your opinion. If you are an American, you shouldn’t be defending Russia right now.
It’s all good.
My typing is garbo at times, so yeah.
It’s all good.
Not in the regions of Ukraine and Russia tho.
Apples and oranges.
Lavrov is outstanding. Most of the Russian administration is very good and very professional. And I am “green with envy” that the Russians get Putin for their leader and we are stuck with this demented mummy who is in the process of destroying the United States.
It was a big hit for Stalin back in ‘41-’42.

What, they have a different kind of snow or mud in Ukraine and Russia?
LOL
Even some heavy Russian equipment has problems in those parts of Ukraine and Russia affected by what they call Rasputitsa.
Just a wee bit of research would do one good, just a wee bit.
You forgot the /s tag.
Why is there mud in the fall?
The rainfall is a little less than in the summer and the ground is not yet frozen. Even after it is frozen, there should not be that much more difficulty. The main problem is in the spring when frozen ground thaws and liquifies top layers first.
I would think that the fall is good time for fighting, especially after the leaves are off and before the snow comes.
Well Lavrov has his share of the ability to dodge questions but when he does this is trying to make known Russia's viewpoint which is so often misconstrued by our media. If you listen enough to foreign leaders you get to know when they're bluffing or not sure or dodging.
Lavrov has been down this pike many times over the years....he knows full well where the US is coming from and their part in Ukraines conflict....and basically it's our country funding and organizing this....the Europeans are barely doing anything to speak of. ...It's all under Nato leadership with the US playing the primary role. Russia's not fooled one bit - but plenty of Americans are.
Lavrov knows how to handle the press and negotiations. In fact he's pretty straight forward for the most part. Always has been.
I wouldn't want Putin running this country....not even a little. But I prefer someone who is far more decisive than what we usually get.
The cooler weather means that the rain that falls does not evaporate like it did in the summer. It can just sit there. It’s not as bad as a quick spring thaw, but it definitely isn’t ideal. Especually if the ground has been driven over by tracked vehicles.
Napoleon and his forces were from France and the Rhine area, and were not used to such harsh winters.
I don’t see much difference between the winters for Russia or Ukraine. Both have very harsh Winters compared to France, but of course, the fighting is entirely within Ukraine, not North Russia...The Ukrainians and Russians are on equal footing when it comes to weather.
You’re substituting condescension for real world experience of armored operations in varied terrain and weather.
I’ve read multiple accounts and memoirs of the ‘41-’45 campaigns in Russia, by the participants and by historians.
Operations did not cease in the winter or during the rasputitsa.
They became more difficult but continued regardless.
A Soviet-crewed SAM in Hanoi, North Vietnam, 1969.
I don’t think anyone insinuated that operations would cease by Rasputitsa. However, ground operations, of any type, will certainly be greatly hampered.
Senile Joe, his son and more than a few Democrats ties with Ukraine explains it all….but yet the American people have not yet seen the obvious. A country as corrupted as Ukraine can not stand.
Ukraine 1991-2023 RIP
