I agree with almost everything you say.
BUT......
Being paid based on performance, at least initially, would be a problem initially. I think the system would need overhauled before that could be implemented.
Right now, aberrant behavior, ADAD, medically compromised to include quadriplegic, severely hyperactive, mental disorder , and severely low IQ students(crack, fetal alcohol syn babies) are put in regular classroom situations.
No teacher, no matter how good, (sorry to say), will ever make exemplary students out of these children. Yet Admin caves to the parents of such for them to be in regular classrooms taking away from children who ARE capable, everyday kids who excel. All these aforementioned kids will be state reg tested and expected to reach a minimum proficiency. That just WILL NOT happen due to student physical/mental limitations, yet the teacher will look as if they are NOT doing their job, which is rubbish in most instances.
Mainstreaming was the start to the destruction of primary education. Throw in an over reaching union, and destruction of basic manners, and no backbone Administrators, and we ARE IN A MESS!!!!!!!!!!
And I left out one HUGE issue such as english as a second language kids. That’s another whole story.
But yes, agree with most of your analysis.

I’m a 100% behind the Home school movement, if done right!!
We were pretty lucky in our PA school district. Was/Is still pretty conservative. It is changing a little but still happy. If I was in some woketard district, home schooling would have been a major probability.
My youngest is now a HS senior, and happy to say MAGA kinda kid!

I’ve done my part with shaming them. It’s ridiculous...someone defended one of them...Hamilton Jay...by saying he’s posted here for years and I pointed out that getting on here everyday and complaining about Biden accomplishes nothing...we have an election and a chance to keep a crucial seat to hurt Biden and if you don’t put up now then shut up later!
