Well, in Germany it might be closer to say “natural gas”. I’m not sure how much coal they burn over there.
Water too, I guess.
“They also add 30% to your weight,”
EV motors have lots of torque a evidenced by the low 0-60 time.
EV’s recoup most of lost energy of acceleration and hills via regenerative braking.
“WTH?”
Fake news by BB.
Translation, not enough battery technology and a shortage of Lithium to make all those batteries needed. That means we all have to go back to Afghanistan, take it over and start building the infrastructure to get to all the ores that area there in those mountains.
By your many questions I realize that this technology is over your head.
The Rockauto newsletter a few months ago asked a question about EV batteries. I don’t remember the model of the car though.
The battery in a _____ weighs:
A 3000 lbs
B The same as a 1980’s Chrysler minivan
C The same as a late 60-70’s Chevelle
D All of the above.
The answer was “D”
True that. But the recharge going downhill isn't as much as the power loss getting up the hill to begin with. For example, if I'm in a hilly area with lots of ups and downs, I often turn off my regen and coast like I would in an ICE car, letting the downhill terrain increase my speed instead of increase my battery power, so that I have to consume less power getting up the next hill thanks to forward momentum.
Of course, EV owners rarely leave the house with nothing but a fully charged battery anyway. Unless, of course, they live in 3rd world power conditions like in Commiefornia.
No.
The correct answer is not listed.
Awww, so sad, NOT!
Makes even my 10 MPG ICE truck a bargain in comparison.
And my 30 MPG classic MG probably just doubled in value.
“if I’m in a hilly area “
It would depend on the terrain. Some places like the Grapevine are miles downhill and brakes and/or using lower gear are required to maintain a safe speed.
Batteries are such a terrible idea.

Its so 1828. But liberals everywhere are fascinated by transportation methods of hundreds of years ago like EVs and trains ... Eventually, they will get around to the horse and buggy, ya think?
An extra added benefit...you’ll be tooling around in your MG after that big EMP strike.
EVs will be dead as a door nail.
Isn’t this the primary government methodology? You are sold the idea of trading a superior product for an inferior one, then the inferior one is even more inferior then promised? AKA trade your gas for electric and in reality we will end up with people or dog powered rickshaws.
Ha ha ha! That’s a real knee slapper.
“I don’t remember ... “
So you just made up some numbers?
Probably the new GM Hummer. I heard that 2.5 ton number bandied around.
Yes it does but it’s a net loss. Going uphill magnifies the battery weight loss too.
