Actually, the gays 2000 years a go still threw Christians in the Roman arena to be eaten by lions. Not much has changed since then.
This being said, gay and homosexual are two entirely different thing, and LGBT does not represent the homosexual in the ancient Greek sense of thing. In Greek time it were fathers staying with their wife (obeying them) and children who were considered gay.

Also if you give it instead of receiving it, you are not gay in Islam. In Suni Islam, being a rapist is probably higher valued.
