I agree. In fact Putin had a closer relationship with Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn before he passed away than Dugin...but even that was more about recognition and mutual respect.
The irony here is that this bombing death may bring Putin and Dugin closer together.
My suspicion is that the bombing was aimed at fomenting some sort of civil disruption in Russia, or at least, aimed at provoking Putin towards authoritarianism. Good luck with that. The survivors of communism have been there, done that and had to live with the results for 70 years. Everyone was surprised when the Second Russian Revolution ended quickly, more or less peacefully and with regime change. Only 30 years and counting, so it’s fresh.
Putin has interesting friendships with serious intellectuals. Tells us a lot more about him than the propaganda. From what I gather reading 1st hand accounts, Putin _listens_ and does so with agency. A complex personality.
