the problem is that to many people conservatism means endless wars, cheap labor from illegal aliens, importing cheap goods from China, and just endless talking about but no action taken on social issues. What did the Bushes conserve? I can’t think of anything. Even Reagan gave us the Bushes, Cheneys, the neo-con invasion of the party, Colin Powell, all of whom gave us nothing positive or conserved anything.

Yep, the definition of Conservatism changes with the times.

To me, it’s centered around Economic Nationalism. Free trade has its place, but not to the detriment of national sovereignity. Also our immigration policy should be geared towards the benefit of the country as a whole, and not to the immigrant themselves. Pretty simple platform, and Trump is the only one who comes close to espousing it.
