Make the income tax 1%. Then establish a 20% consumption tax. Promise a big rebate to the public for every department eliminated. Give them a ‘bonus’ check they can ‘touch and feel’. After 2 years the 20% tax can be lowered to fit spending That’s why we need these ‘bonus’ checks sent out. Skin in the game-heard it somewhere.

The hiring of 87K IRS agents will be a boon to every college graduate with a degree that contains the word “studies” in it—gender studies, African-American studies, LGBTQ studies, women’s studies, transgender studies, etc. None of them will be qualified to add and subtract numbers, but in the infamous words of Hillary Clinton, “what difference does it matter now?”
Plus they’ll all be unionized guaranteed Dem voters!

Those are details/too much information. We’ll have to work around the edges on entitlements. Millenials(40 and under) drop out of SSI and get a different system in place once they realize SSI is not there for them. Retirement income for government employees-cap it. Cut spending enough to grow ourselves out of our debt. Every baby boomer will have to be dead when the goal is reached. Could mean SSI limits to the rich. Kicking the can down the road on your entitlements won’t do-we can agree.
