I don’t know the answer to the question, but I do know that I probably buy lots of ammo for the same reason.

“In just the last few months, the Internal Revenue Service has bought almost 5,000,000 rounds of small arms ammunition — spending almost $700,000 in the process.”

BS!. 5,000,000 rounds for $700,000? That’s less than 15 cents per round.

Yeah, I calculated about 14 cents per round

Only .22LR is cheaper than that today.

I spent a few years in ammunition procurement for DoD. I believe this contract is what is commonly referred to as an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract. An ID/IQ contract can cover multiple types of ammunition (45 ACP, 12 GA, etc.) in multiple years and with pricing specified for a range(s) of quantities. The government is under no obligation to purchase any or all.

The contract might state that the government can procure from 100 to 500 rounds of 12 gauge at $1.45 per round, 501 to 1000 rounds at $1.35 per round, etc., etc. The contract might have a period of performance of several years with different quantities and prices for each year for each ammunition type. The total quantities across all the ammunition types across all the years can add to a rather large quantity, ie, 5,000,000 even though the government does not have funding for any where near those quantities.

An ID/IQ contract is setup that way to provide the government the flexibility to procure what is needed when it is needed. It also reflects the uncertainty of what might be needed through out the term of the contract.

ID/IQ contracts are difficult to understand and it’s not uncommon for these contracts to be interpreted that the government is preparing to buy some huge amount.

Thank you, government man. Now would you please explain why the IRS would NEED any ammunition at all. ThankQ in advance.

When the real coup happens - the one the left has been planning for over 20 years,
ammo will be used to kill top people at the IRS.

I'm guessing the plan is to have the commie coup take ONE DAY. Kind of like in the old days when the radio station was taken...

So each bureaucracy will have guns and ammo and on that commie take-over day, the people who might resist - top management will be shot. Nothing else makes sense.

Nothing else makes sense. NOTHING ELSE MAKES SENSE. Think about it...
