In previous times people who read comic books were considered to be at the bottom of the intelligence pecking order. Now we are consuming the same medium as film entertainment and making millions for comic book empires.

We are raising a nation of morons.

Good start. Once the veiled propaganda is uncovered in these movies, no one should watch them.
The current Hollywood movie ethos must starve to death.

That’s Stephanie Brown, she was the 3rd Batgirl and didn’t last very long.

“I have two ladies from the D.R. in my church choir. They’re European.”

Visited wiki and read up on D.R. history. Pretty wild. We’ve been to the island once, off a cruise ship. Would love to spend more time there.

“Due to cultural syncretism, the culture and customs of the Dominican people have a European cultural basis, influenced by both African and native Taíno elements, although endogenous elements have emerged within Dominican culture;[243] culturally the Dominican Republic is among the most-European countries in Spanish America, alongside Puerto Rico, Cuba, Central Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay.”

This thing had two or three directors attached. Wonder Woman had a decent first film but it was squandered in the second. Superman has become unwatchable as a character. The Nolan Batman trilogy and recent The Batman have been pretty good. He seems to get the best treatment of DC characters.

The wild is choking franchises.

Apparently because of the Discovery merger they have the ability to take a significant tax write off. If it truly is a bad movie they may lose less by shelving it and taking the write-off.

Which means once again the taxpayers are paying the taxes that a korporation gets a write-off for.

While reading story, followed link about the new Suicide. Squad movie. I liked the first one, so haven’t bothered watching the new one.

The suit looks like something salvaged from a 1950’s tv show. Unbelievable. I’m not a fan of comic book movies but I have enough peripheral situational awareness to know that spandex movie fans have been ridiculing the suit ever since the first look production stills were released.

This has been a jinxed production from Day One. The casting was done at Peak Woke. Warner chose to blackwash the lead role while its execs were in full grovel mode on DEI. That of course puts the black actress in an impossible position. Leslie Grace may be great in the role, but she is a relative newbie. A couple of very good and much more established actresses who appeared to be naturals for the role were considered but skipped.

The universal presumption is that this was simply racial stuntcasting. That put LG into a no-win situation. If the movie is as bad as rumored, LG may come to realize that she dodged a bullet. She got a big paycheck anyhow, and I expect Warner will toss another big role at her soon as a makeup offering.

Correction: I carelessly referred to the lead actress as black. She was born in the U.S.; her parents are Domenican immigrants. Race doesn’t matter to us but it does to the libs. In the instance, the young lady is a mixed race Latina. The black/white/indigenous mix, I don’t know, but she’s tannish enough for the race commissars. There was a bit of a rumpus when she was cast in In the Heights that a darker skinned Latina should have been chosen.

Are you joking ? She’s hot. Either she’s a terrible actress or the script is a horror. Probably woke garbage as usual.

“””Cat woman? You mean Julie Newmar?!”””

Yes, she owns it, sort of like Shatner as Cpt. Kirk, Connery as 007.
