The Fed is out of control. With almost $9 trillion in holdings, they have very done very little QT. And will the Fed get cold feet and stop increasing interest rates because we are in a recession? We have dug ourselves such a deep hole, it is almost impossible to get out of it.

Fed Holdings:

Jan 1, 2003--$731 billion

July 27, 2022--$8.9 trillion

Barrasso is tap dancing around Maria’s questions “ what is wrong with your party and why aren’t they farther ahead in the polls?”

Sad that the good people of West Virginian can't see through all this. They desperately need help in deciding who to support and who not to support

Yep!
We need help to learn who we should support!
We need help so we can elect more "Republicans" like Capito or turn-coat Justice or carpet bagger Mooney.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not praising Manchin. But you have to understand the lay of the land before you come in and try to "help"
Inside the state, it's really just a Uni-Party. D and R only matter when it comes to patronage. Party politics in WV operates just like Tammany Hall did in NYC, only here it depends on what county you live in.
Politics, Mountain Politics, is a cesspool here in WV and from all I've read, that is not a *new* thing.
Remember, " Don't buy another vote. I won't pay for a landslide"? That was more than 60 years ago and 'though not as blatant today, little has changed that I can see.

Not a done deal quite yet.

Sinema indicates she may want to change Schumer-Manchin deal

Why the Inflation Reduction Act isn’t a sure thing--There are still three outstanding issues.

Sinema spokesperson Hannah Hurley told Bloomberg that the senator was still reviewing the bill and would wait to see what emerged from the Senate parliamentarian’s review. Manchin, meanwhile, has repeatedly said he’s interested in keeping the carried interest provision in the bill. Previously, increases to corporate and individual tax rates were stripped from the House’s Build Back Better bill because of Sinema’s opposition.

WVa is a case study in pig in a poke. Politician run as friends of the folk and then turn on them. Ohio situation developing. We have Sherrod Brown (D) entrencned in Senate. Worthless Rob Portman (R) mercifully retired but a flock of Rs showed up for the seat. Trump interviewed them all and picked J D Vance, author of Hillbilly Elegy. So Vance won primary. But he is running on “Trump endorsed me” which works on half the people but the Dems are clobbering him, and his lack of money. Meanwhile Dems concentrated on a single candidate, Congressman Tim Ryan, who is running as Don Trump. He wants a middle class tax cut. He will stick up for the working people. He claims to be a populist, He runs many good ads. Meanwhile disgruntled Rs in Ohio like John Kasich (and even Gov. DeWine and a lot more) are sitting this out because Vance is Trump’s boy. I hate to see Ohio with 2 Dem Senators. A travesty. I like Vance but I would not doubt that even Mitch is trying to dump him also because Trump takes credit for Vance’s primary win. The polls do not show any R pick-ups in the Senate. Warnock leads Hershell Walker. The Dems may get a filibuster proof Senate and then confirm (more) all sorts of weirdos. Any suggestions?

It’s what I equate with Gingrich’s Contract with America. Here’s what I’ll do.

‘Schedule F’ will mean thousands of employees quit or are sheeite-canned.
So, he’s got teams vetting people who themselves are vetting an envisioned 10,000 like minded future employees of the USA during Trump 2.0. Vetters vetting more vetters. Totally unheard of.

I see 2 or more departments ELIMINATED. Ag & Ed. Several moved out of DC..Interior & a hugely downsized IRS. EPA cut to bare bones.

Whatever details its damn exciting.

One of the shows was some shark ‘expert’, a professor or something, trying to prove that sharks have different “personalities” and the troublemakers that attack people are about 1% or something like that.

Sharks are “wild” and they are predators & that explains the vast majority of their behavior. I don’t think they need to be a certain ‘personality’ type to see something that looks like food to them so they go after it. Do they make mistakes? Yes, they do .... and those are exploratory bites after which the shark leaves. Do some sharks decide no matter what they are eating something or somebody? Yes, they do ... they are predators & the ‘prey drive’ is strong - thrashing around & blood in the water is all it takes.

IMO, lots of ‘nonsense’ & money wasted on shark ‘personalities’ ... Jeff on the Tooth & Claw podcast says about (Wily) Coyotes “coyotes be wiling”. Well, to borrow his thought: “sharks be sharkin’” ... doesn’t take a boatload of other people’s money to figure that out.

not to mention 2 departments most in need of an overhaul—Justice & State.

Bring it on.

And it worth remembering that this vote will put many Dems in the House and Senate at risk in the midterms. Will Kelly (AZ) and Hassan (NH) vote for it?

And how enthusiastic will the public be when they learn that the bill includes hiring 75,000 more IRS agents?

And the Dem response is more spending. The problem is that there are a significant number of RINOs who support it as well.

Once again history repeating itself. The Romans did it with their debasement of their Coins, It got bad starting in the early 200's and went south under Diocletian, nicknamed Iovius, he was Roman emperor from 284 to 305. It happened more recently in France when Marie Antonetta told the starving to eat more Cake.

So now it is our turn, will we have a good recession in 2022-2023 and clear out the deadwood, or will this be just another blip in our continued empire devolution? Only time will tell

And what about Leahy ? Is he back ? Ds need every vote.

But Trump won WV 69% to 30%, the 2nd highest margin of victory except for WY.

WV state senate 23-11 Rep. House 78-22 Rep.

Manchin won reelection in 2018 by 19K votes, 49.57% to 46.26%. Manchin didn't even receive 50% of the vote. If he runs in 2024, he must be defeated. I suspect he won't run again.

Has she noticed the disgust Cavuto and Baier have for Pres. Trump? They don’t bother to hide it like Ingraham and Hannity do.

Great stuff way to go. Spending is so out of wack there is no telling how we will ever get it under control. Those that think just getting back to a balanced budget will help are dreaming. We need to reduce the budget deficit in a big way every year to even have a chance for the dollar.
I pity our kids who will be taxed to death.
