It’s not that they are going after Putin, but going after Kadyrov, who is a Putin puppet and not well-liked in Chechnya. With Kadyrov and his troops fighting in Ukraine on Russia’s side, his opposition back home is gearing up.

Hmmm...wonder if there isn’t a lesson in there somewhere for the USA...
Like...don’t weaken your military, don’t rob your arsenals to arm non-friends, don’t spread your military out to thin, don’t piss off half your own armed population, don’t align with the People’s obvious enemies...and don’t make an outright play for socialism/communism.

Chechnya rebelling combined with an offensive in Georgia to recover occupied territories would cause some difficulties for Russia while it is tied down trying to keep territory in Ukraine. Putin may have overextended the Russian military.
