The so-called world's greatest deliberative body has produced its share of American characters. There has been no shortage of folksy, avuncular, often hoary septuagenarian and octogenarian senators who have amused and bemused as they have contributed, sometimes even positively, to our American political lore.

One thinks of Senator Kennedy of Louisiana whose down-home charm and piercing analogies gain him ready access to the camera even as he genuinely contributes to making sense out of madness on behalf of conservatism.

On the other hand, Lindsay Graham haunts our television screens by virtue of his glibness rather than his wit. Too bad Graham is not funny as is Senator Kennedy so we might at least chuckle as Graham gives us another shiv in the back.

Senator Simpson of Wyoming was a character of a previous generation who could in fact be funny and certainly folksy. The problem is, he was disarmingly likable who threw knuckle balls when we conservatives were guarding ourselves against fast ones. He appeared to be one of us as his "aw-shucks" demeanor and metaphors took us back to the ranch and the farm.

Whatever his packaging, Senator Simpson was an establishment Republican to his core. A generation or more ago, our acid test for a conservative was his support or lack of support for Ronald Reagan. Today, our test is more than just support for Donald Trump but that test will do for a shorthand standard. He clearly chooses the establishment Cheney family over dis-establishing the elites of Washington. Simpson talks like a good old boy off a Wyoming ranch but he was always hip deep in the Washington swamp.

Liz Cheney is all about Trump hatred. It was Trump’s attack on Dick Cheney’s war in Iraq. Simpson flacking for the establishment, says that Trump is taking our Constitutional rights - just mouthing CNN lies.

Alan, tell us about Mueller and Russia, and Jeff Sessions recusing himself from a supposed Russian “conflict of interest” that was entirely made up by Hillary Clinton. Tell me about the FBI lawyer falsifying evidence to wiretap Trump, and that same lawyer being on the Mueller Investigation - just letting you know it is rigged. This Russia deceit has led to war in the Ukraine, and dangerously effected United States - Russia relations - this could have been avoided. We have witnessed a coup d’etat for the entire Trump term by the Democrats and a weaponized, corrupt law enforcement. Add in a grotesque “vote by mail” election, a man made virus, and the complete rejection of journalistic integrity regarding the in-your-face corruption shown in the Hunter Laptop - the spiking of which led to a false Ukrainian impeachment - and you are left with the real theft of our Democracy.

There is too much shit put out by these scumbags to believe anything they say.... from Russian hookers pissing to grabbing the steering wheel... that I cannot give any of them the time of day.
