” Just go around. “
The USN will conduct Freedom of Navigation transits without regard to what China says.
And China dare not shoot.

They use “fishing boats” and ramming tactics.

So f-ing close it! You pay Joe and his crime family enough money, that he’ll never do anything about it anyway.

I am certainly no naval expert, but given how aggressive they now are it would not surprise me if the next step, once the Chinese have enough warships, is to station them at each end of the straits and dare international naval vessels to pass.

The Taiwan Strait is 100 miles wide. No way to blockage it with a couple of ships.

Yup, now that Trump is no longer President, we’re headed for a shooting war with the Chinese. Our surrender in Afghanistan has emboldened all the bad actors to kick our a$$.

“My father was on a mine sweeper cleaning up the mess in the Formosa Strait in September of 1945”.
The cleanup of mines after the war took tremendous effort. Your Dad and his mates did a great job.
B-29s alone dropped thousands of mines around Japan.
